I am sure everyone reading this is familiar with all of the large social media platforms on the web. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr. There are many more worth looking at as well. These social media giants offer a free arena for you to engage with your audience. Whether they are clients, customers, industry professionals, or anyone else with an interest in your market.
It is very important to get your business profile on these. At bare minimum Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn but I think you should do the above and more. Not that you need to be really active at all of them but as the old cliche goes, “The more you put into it, the more you get out of it”. Google considers social activity when ranking websites, it is part of their ranking algorithm.
What are Social Signals?
Basically it is a term is used to describe the “signals” that Google and other search engines receive when someone posts a comment article, backlink or media on social media platforms. Reach out to your audience, Tweet, Share Like and engage.
Another way to get social signals is to advertise on other peoples accounts. This can be a great way of getting more fans and followers back to your social media accounts and also to your website where they can learn more about your business as well as products or services you offer. The bonus of this is that you are also helping your seo efforts at the same time.
Share and share often. Share great content. Articles and posts, pictures, video, news stories in your industry anything that you consider useful to your audience.
For those who don’t know how to do this there are plenty of guides, books and videos on this subject. Not to mention professional service providers 😉
